Worship Ministry
PURPOSE:
The Worship Commission leads the community of faith in the weekly celebrations offering thanks and praise to God Almighty. Outward observances are expressions of the inner life of faith.
'Worship the Lord in the splendor of his holiness.' 1 Chronicles 16:29
ACOLYTES:
Adults and youth (4th grade & above) assist the clergy at the altar and carry the cross, Gospel Book, thurible and torches.

ADULT CHOIR:
Through leadership of the sung portions of the liturgy, hymns, psalms, anthems, and the great musical monuments of our civilization, the adult choir remains a vital part of the most public expression of this parish's spiritual worship in Eucharistic celebration on festivals and the Lord's Day. Regular attention to this duty and delight not only draws the parish together in its most overt expression of its hopes and yearnings, but will also raise up the individual choir participant through growth in self-knowledge, musical ability, and the intensity of worship which can only come through sung prayer.
contact: Craig Westendorf
ALTAR GUILD:
The Altar Guild is a behind-the-scenes ministry that prepares the sanctuary for Eucharistic services, weddings, baptisms, funerals and memorial services. Responsibility also includes caring for and maintaining the communion elements, vessels, linens and vestments, and cleaning up after services.
contact: Sue Vold
CHALICE BEARERS & LECTORS:
Serving Christ at His altar, Chalice Bearers assist the priest, pass the chalice of wine during communion, and read portions of the service. Lectors participate in the service by reading the assigned scripture lessons. Lay Readers lead Morning Prayer, Evening Prayer and other offices when requested to do so by the rector.

CHILDREN’S CHOIRS:
There is nothing like the joy and challenge of a choir to grow responsibility, cooperation, pride, self-worth, and of course musicality in the young people of this parish. The director and choir will work together on a mutual path of discovery in the expanding role of children and youth in liturgy, musical expression, and definite goals in musicianship as established by the Royal School of Church Music. The choir is a complement to the Christian Education program, and perhaps the best means for our younger members to exercise their discipleship on a regular basis. We have separate choirs for Young Women (middle and high school age), Upper Elementary and Primary Grades.

HANDBELL CHOIR:
The Handbell Choir, St. Anthony's newest musical offering, is an ensemble for bell ringers from middle school age to adult, and is open to anyone with any kind of musical experience.

EUCHARISTIC MINISTERS:
Over a dozen faithful people take turns spending part of their Sunday mornings delivering communion to Westminster Village. Communion is also available and has been taken to other parishioners who are in the hospital or recuperating at home. The EMs pick up a communion kit at the altar at the end of the first church service on Sundays and are sent out by the congregation to serve those who cannot attend the church service.
contact: The Rev. Jan Wilner
USHERS:
With Christian love and friendliness, ushers welcome and greet members and visitors. They monitor and direct the congregation throughout the service and are the primary source of information and assistance for churchgoers. Duties include handing out pewsheets, collection plates, taking head count, recruiting oblationers and straightening up the pews after each service. They are available to the clergy for any special instructions as caretakers of our Sanctuary during services.
