Explore Celtic Spirituality – Tour of Ireland & Scotland – June 1, 2020
Interest level is high and space is limited. Reserve your spot now for this pilgrimage to Ireland and Scotland. Learn more about Celtic spirituality which draws on all our senses to experience God. We will tour ancient religious sites in Ireland and Scotland – “thin places” where we will feel a powerful connection to ancient cultures and to God. Our tour includes an opportunity to enter the community at Iona and share worship there as well as explore the monastic life of the Holy Island of Lindisfarne. We will spend time enjoying Dublin and Edinburgh and all their historic landmarks. See the planned itinerary here or on the Inspire bulletin board. Send your registration and deposit to Faith Journeys using group number 20018.
Letters from Home for High School Missioners
Our 19th annual high school mission trip will be to Racine, WI in June. The students and their leaders will be rehabbing homes for the disadvantaged and elderly in that community. It is a tradition that on their one afternoon off they spend time reading letters from family, friends and you letting them know they are in your prayers and encouraging them in their good work as Christ's hands and feet. There will be a basket available every Sunday until June 10 for collection or you can drop them off in the church office during the week. The students and their leaders are: Alexa Twibell, Caroline Tetlow, Kaitlyn Hohl, Julia Hacnik, Natalia Culbertson, Ashleigh Bolton and Harrison Woods, leaders Mark Culbertson and Jill Kyler.
Emergency Safety Procedures
The Vestry has adopted new procedures to ensure your safety. Doors to the church, office and parish hall will now be locked during worship services and other events. If you arrive late or need access to a building on Sunday mornings, check in with an usher who will have keys to unlock the doors. Ministries are also asked to keep doors locked during meetings and other events they are holding.
Calendar for 2019-2020
If your ministry is planning an event during the remainder of this year and in 2020, please send all the details to Debbie Hubbs as soon as possible to avoid conflicts with other planned events.
Office Volunteers needed for Vacation Coverage
While Debbie Hubbs, our Parish Administrator, takes a well-deserved vacation, we will need people to answer phones and the office doorbell. The days coverage is needed are Thursday, May 30 - Friday, June 7. Office hours are 8:30 - 3:30 pm M-F. Mornings are especially crucial. If you can help out, please contact Debbie by phone or email.
Lutheran Social Ministries of the Southwest has been helping refugees resettle in the US for more than 30 years. LSM-SW has asked us to partner with them to provide much needed items for those who resettle in the Phoenix area. Especially needed are gently used clothing: tennis shoes (infant to adults), baby blankets, hair combs, pony tail bands, barrettes, bobby pins, men's pants (size S), boys's pants (teen sizes), socks for all ages, coloring books and crayons and soccer balls. These items will be collected in the church lobby during June. Look for the box marked "Refugee Resettlement." Contact Becky Evans 602.550.3103 with questions.

The Prayer Chain Ministry is being re-established, and now is your opportunity to share Christ’s love and compassion. If you are interested in serving as a prayer chain minister, contact Celia Warren by phone or email or signup online. If you have a prayer request - send it to us online.
