Shop Amazon – Benefit St. Anthony (win/win)
Access your Amazon home page by clicking the Amazon logo at left, and we will receive a small referral fee that doesn’t affect the cost of your purchases in any way. Most of us shop this way, so make it count! Encourage your family and friends to support St. Anthony mission and ministries with this one extra click that will mean so much.
See something that needs to be fixed? Please add it to the list on the bulletin board in the courtyard or email the office. Thank you for helping us to identify issues and keep our campus safe and beautiful.
Prayer Chain Ministry Opportunities
Knowing others are praying for you or your loved ones is so comforting in difficult times. The Prayer Chain Ministry is being re-established, and now is your opportunity to share Christ’s love and compassion. If you are interested in serving as a prayer chain minister, contact Celia Warren by phone or email or signup online. If you have a prayer request - send it to us online.
Calendar for 2019-2020
If your ministry is planning an event during the remainder of this year and in 2020, please send all the details to Debbie Hubbs as soon as possible to avoid conflicts with other planned events.
Emergency Safety Procedures
The Vestry has adopted new procedures to ensure your safety. Doors to the church, office and parish hall will now be locked during worship services and other events. If you arrive late or need access to a building on Sunday mornings, check in with an usher who will have keys to unlock the doors. Ministries are also asked to keep doors locked during meetings and other events they are holding.
Avid Readers 2019-20 Booklist
Pick up your copy of the 2019-20 booklist in the church lobby, the Parish Hall or download here. It promises to be a great season with many interesting reads. A highlight will be author Julie Bradley joining us in February. Everyone is invited to join the discussions.
Healthy Packs Outreach Events
Every Thursday 8:30-10 am
Come to AZ Brainfood on Thursdays to pack food bags for Scottsdale and Fountain Hills students who don’t have enough to eat on the weekends. Pick up a flyer at the Inspire bulletin board. Come once or as often as you can.
Pledge In-Gathering for 2020
Sharing the Way of Jesus together builds a strong community of faith. Your pledge provides a sacred space for worship, faith formation and a gathering place for friendships to flourish here at St. Anthony. But of even greater importance your pledge empowers us to be a community bringing God’s light and love to others. Thank you for all who have already submitted pledge commitments for 2020:
Pledges Received to Date - 118 totaling $353,935
If you haven’t already submitted your pledge please place it in the offering plate on Sunday morning, mail to the church office or e-mail email@example.com with your information. Join us on the Way with Jesus.
Bishop Reddall Visitation – Sunday, January 19th
This is an exciting time in our diocese. We have a new bishop, and she will be visiting St. Anthony on January 19th. Let’s plan a wonderful celebration for her – with lots of food of course! There will be only one service at 10 am for her visit with a lunch following. Please sign-up on the Inspire bulletin board or through this link indicating what you will bring. Be sure to check out her sermon at the 2019 Diocesan Convention on YouTube
Winter Season of The Way
January 27, February 3 and 10
6 pm in the Parish Hall
The Way is an opportunity for your faith to be explored, nurtured and renewed, your commitment to Jesus Christ affirmed and your walk as a disciple of Christ established in the company of fellow travelers. Even if you were not able to attend our first gathering, you are welcome to join us. Sign up at the Inspire bulletin board or online.
Tuesday, January 21 – 7 pm – Parish Hall
Please join the Avid Readers to discuss The Accidental President by A.J. Baine, an account of Harry S. Truman’s first four months as president. Those who wish to share a light meal before the meeting are invited to come to the Parish Hall at 6:15 pm. If you plan to come for dinner, please call Susan Gilfeather at 480.391.1961 or email by January 15. Looking ahead on February 18 we will be pleased to have Julie Bradley, author of Escape from the Ordinary, as our guest.

St. Andrew’s Children’s Clinic Tour

Kids’ Care Ministry at St. Anthony has begun its 10th season. Be sure to visit our new ministry information center located outside the church door. 1443 S. 9th Avenue, Phoenix AZ 85007
This home is part of HfH’s latest major project in Phoenix to revitalize an area south of downtown with many of the homes being in the owners’ families for generations. The task to be completed on April 4 has not yet been determined. Please call or email Jon Thom with questions or signup here.
Provide a meal for our EPIC Youth Group
Sunday evenings at 5 pm - Parish Hall
Get to know the youth in our church better by providing a meal – and joining them for it – one Sunday evening. You would provide a meal for approximately 15. Whatever you would like to bring would be very appreciated. Please sign up on the Inspire bulletin board or by emailing Mark Culbertson.
The Arts Council is pleased to present its second exhibit of the season, featuring fabric artist Gwen Jones and her husband photographer Peter Jones. This husband and wife team exhibited at St. Anthony last season, and we were impressed by their artistry in both of their mediums. They are snowbirds who exhibit extensively in Illinois, Michigan, Indiana, as well as here in Arizona.
Eucharistic Visitors Opportunity
Each Sunday we send out individuals to share communion with those unable to attend worship services. Most Eucharistic Visitors are assigned one Sunday service each month. This is a wonderful opportunity to offer meaningful connections and form new friendships. Training is provided, and there will be opportunities to shadow experienced Eucharistic Visitors. If this sounds like a ministry for you, please use this link to learn more.
