Saint Anthony on the Desert is part of a non-profit fifteen church coalition that builds two to three homes a year in the Phoenix area. This coalition has been in existence since 2002. Each year Saint Anthony donates a minimum of $2,000 plus a backyard tool kit for the new homeowners. The builds are on Saturday and usually involve 25-30 volunteers on each site. Work projects include roofing, dry walling, exterior and interior framing. This valley-wide ministry represents a hand up and not a hand out. For information on upcoming projects, please fill out form below.

Our local 12News featured our latest Habitat resident on one of their shows. Munira was blessed by furnishings for her new home by the Kurt and Brenda Warner Foundation. Take a look here.

Habitat Update - April, 2021

The Saint Anthony Habitat for Humanity Ministry is pleased to announce that it, along with its fellow parishes in the Episcopal Habitat Ministry, has completed its most recent home. The home is located in Phoenix Central City South and is the 42nd home the Episcopal Coalition has built in the Phoenix Metro area since its inception in 1998. This home will be owned and lived in by Munira Abdulkadir and her son, Khalid, and will be dedicated this Saturday, April 24th. Munira moved to Arizona from Kenya at 10 years old with her family.

Munira was born in Somalia and her family moved to Kenya before coming to the United States. She works for the State of Arizona as a Family Reunification Specialist. Central City South is a redevelop-ment area south of downtown Phoenix with 30 homes being built by Habitat for Humanity over a 3-year period. Please join us in our prayers for Munira and her son as they move into their new home and begin the next phase of their lives.
