The Episcopal Habitat Coalition (EHC) of which Saint Anthony is a member, in partnership with Habitat for Humanity Central Arizona, has begun building its 44th Phoenix metro area home located in Glendale. The EHC, as a sponsor of the home, provides both a financial contribution and labor for the construction of the home. There is an opportunity for Saint Anthony parishioners to participate in this build either as volunteer labor or also as auxiliary support. This will continue spring through early July and will provide ample opportunities for interested parishioners.
Build days are on Saturdays, with limited work also being done on Tuesdays for those with free time during the week. No previous construction experience or skills are necessary as there are experienced volunteers on-site to help you learn as you go, and tasks are available for those with a wide variety of physical abilities. The minimum age for volunteers is 16.
In previous years, Saint Anthony and the EHC would designate specific Saturdays, by parish, for volunteer groups to join the build. Currently, we are open to parishioners to work the Saturdays of their choosing or, if we do get a group of St. Anthony members who would like to work as a group on a specific date or set of tasks, that can be accommodated also.
